The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved dog dies, the dog goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting dog.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

Nitro

1996 - July 2009

Nitro was rescued at 10 months old in 1996. She was the sweetest Cattle Dog there ever was and happily did whatever was asked of her, from obedience to herding to agility. She was my first performance dog and taught me more than I ever thought I could learn. She wasn't an accomplished agility dog, but she was a superstar in our home. I'm so grateful I had the chance to know her. Nitro is missed by Angie.

1992 - 1/16/2007

Andy was a stray from Akron, Ohio that we adopted from Central Illinois Sheltie Rescue. He introduced us to agility, although he was at an advanced age. He made over 70 therapy visits to nursing homes and retired from agility competition after his final run at the 2005 Sheltie nationals. Andy is missed by Ross and Linda.
